I painted this version of Teddy first. Using large color fields, I wanted to make it more comprehensible for a one year old.

I was delighted how she reacted to it. She was fascinated by the color and sat happily on my lap pointing at various sections while staring intently at the painting.

But there was just one thing wrong. I felt it needed a little more abstraction. I needed another Teddy. And that's where Mama Bear comes into the story.
