Mother Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu MC, honoured in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. She was born in Skopje, then part of the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire.

Known as Mother Teresa, she founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950 which grew to thousands of nuns operating in over 130 countries. As well as running as orphanages and schools, the congregation ran soup kitchens, clinics and counselling programs and managed palliative care homes for those with leprosy and tuberculosis, and AIDS.

She received many honours included a Nobel peace prize in 1979.

Inspired by this background, I setout to depict this fiercely determined leader's focus on achieving her goals. As is my norm, I've used abstraction and color fields to convey her message.
