For over 500 years, the Tower of London has been home to generations of monarchs, a prison, and a fortress for storing the crown jewels.

More notoriously, it's also where Henry VIII had three of his wives beheaded. It remains today as an awe-inspiring symbol of fear and power.

Yet how should I represent it within my Worldscape collection? Each of the sites I've selected for inclusion offer their own special challenges and create interesting problems to solve.

Taking its essential outline as the defining motif, I decided to reduce its complexity to a collage of repeated components, like the towers, and the windows in the castle walls.

Each component was then painted in a slightly different way using flecks and marks that create a series of interlinked abstract impressions to become a part of my Worldscape Collection.
